Second Fall Class

Homework:

The first part of the homework this week is to use zeno's paradox in a simple flash file. I recommend taking your homework from last week and using zenos paradox to animate one or more of the properties that you were changing. I took one of the sample homework files from last week and added zeno's paradox here:

Example 1
(The only thing thats different is the way the bars scale)

Here are a few more sample files (source is included in zip below):
Example 2
Example 3

The second part of the homework is to thouroghly review all the class files and formulate questions. The class is going to begin to progress fast and its important that everone grasps the basic concepts that we've covered. Since we only briefly touched on variables I don't expect you to have a full understanding of them at this point - we will be covering them in more depth next weekend.

Recommended Books

Finding good actionscript books is quite hard. The below books are excellent... but for someone who has never programmed before they can seem daunting. Based on student reactions in the past I think these books in combination with the class will be usefull.

I'm still digging around for a general actionscript refference book. If anyone has any other recommendations, please post a comment to the blog entry:

BOOKS:

Essential ActionScript 2.0

Flash Hacks

Foundation ActionScript Animation: Making Things Move!

Flash Math Creativity
